Spiked Chin

1804 1/2 C Spiked Chin, C-8, B-7, R.1, MS63 Brown NGC. Manley Die State 2.0, cracked from the L in LIBERTY to the rim. The dentils remain visible in this state but become worn in later states. Chocolate-brown surfaces are imbued with steel-gray and biscuit highlights and contain minimal abrasions. The strike is bold, though slightly soft on the central hair curls as usual. Cohen-8 is the most plentiful of the four Spiked Chin varieties of the 1804 half cent.
