1840 $1 MS62 PCGS. OC-3, R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. A remarkable MS62 specimen from the first year of the design, this coin exhibits well-detailed design elements and lightly marked lustrous surfaces that show traces of prooflike reflectivity in sheltered areas. Both obverse and reverse were struck from dies that were previously used to strike proofs. Highlights of emerald-green and lavender-gray toning enhance the eye appeal. Population: 18 in 62 (2 in 62+), 14 finer (12/18).(Registry values: N4719)
