Description

Delightfully Toned 1907 No Periods Ten, MS66

1907 $10 No Periods MS66NGC. Charles Barber, not exactly an admirer of designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens, fiddled with his design posthumously to create the circulation issue, removing the periods or triangular stops. The Star designation is aptly earned, with gorgeous alternating areas of mint-green and pinkish-gold scattered throughout both sides of this pristine piece. Although the 1907 No Periods is one of the most available dates in the series in Gem grade or higher, this coin is nonetheless quite memorable, and could be the starting point for a phenomenally beautiful date run or type coin assemblage of delectably toned gold. Census: 3 in 66 ★ , 20 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N4719)
