1867 Three Cent Silver, MS65
Low-Mintage Issue
1867 3CS MS65 NGC. Ex: NC Coppers Collection. The 1867 has a
tiny business mintage of only 4,000 pieces, and since collectors of
the day set aside proofs, it is unsurprising that PCGS (as of 9/17)
has certified just 68 examples in all grades. The present
semiprooflike Gem displays lavender-red, apple-green, peach-gold,
and cream-gray toning. The strike is sharp and the surfaces are
carefully preserved. Census: 8 in 65, 5 finer (7/19).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22ZH, PCGS# 3687, Greysheet# 3634)
