Description
An Absolutely Phenomenal and Incredibly Rare Akce from Guzelcehisar Mint
Ottoman Empire. Ahmed I (AH 1012-1026 / AD 1603-1617) silver Akce AH 1012 (AD 1603) UNC - unevenly struck, Guzelcehisar mint (in Turkey), 0.33g, 12mm, KM13.14, A-1352, ICV-3189, Pere-Unl. A mint that is simply never encountered for Ahmed's akces, and extremely rare, when it is encountered, to find in such a singular and enviable condition as is the present piece--featuring not only a full mint and date, but the majority of the sultan's name intact as well. Even more impressive is the rainbow of colors that meld so effortlessly with the flow lines on the coin, radiating outward from a rich indigo to leaf green before transferring to a mix of gold and orange.Ex.
