1872 Two Cent Piece, MS64 Red and Brown
Only 65,000 Circulation Strikes Produced
1872 2C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Sharply struck and
free from visible carbon, the surfaces are exceptionally clean and
mark-free for the grade. Each side presents a tan-brown appearance
with hints of gold. The luster quality is only slightly muted, the
grade-limiting factor. The 1872 has the lowest (and last) mintage
of business strikes in the two cent series, with only 65,000 pieces
struck. Population: 35 in 64 (2 in 64+) Red and Brown, 22 finer.
