Description

1909-S Indian Cent, Blond MS65+ Red
Final-Year Key Issue

1909-S 1C MS65+ Red PCGS Secure. CAC. This is a stunning blond-red Indian cent with frosted mint luster and sharply struck devices. A speckling of russet-brown flecks in the left obverse field evolve into faint woodgrain effect on the equally sharp and lustrous reverse. A tiny nick on the nose is the only mark to mention. Far rarer than its 1909-S Lincoln cent counterparts (with or without VDB), the 1909-S Indian remains underrated and challenging at this level. Population: 2 in 65+ Red, 31 finer. CAC: 27 in 65, 7 finer (5/18).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2298, PCGS# 2240, Greysheet# 1466)
