Exceptional 1927-S Select Full Head Quarter

1927-S 25C MS63 Full Head NGC. This attractive Select 1927-S quarter is one of the few examples of this issue that displays a Full Head; J.H. Cline (2007) contends that less than one percent exhibit this feature. The date and mintmark are also bold, though some of the other design elements, such as the shield and eagle's torso feathers, reveal the usual softness. Each side displays pleasing luster and is covered with medium density mauve-blue toning. A few trivial marks, more so on the reverse, define the grade. Only two other pieces have been so graded by NGC, with 11 coins in finer condition (10/08). This is a rare opportunity for the specialist to acquire a Full Head 1927-S quarter in a pleasing Uncirculated grade with problem-free surfaces.
