1877-S Trade Dollar, MS65
Flashy, One-Sided Prooflike Example
1877-S T$1 MS65 NGC. Large S. This wonderful S-mint Gem
Trade dollar, which is also the issue with the highest mintage for
the series, would make an excellent and interesting addition to a
date or type set. Each side offers crisp detail at both the centers
and the margins, and the generally silver-white surfaces show
glimpses of reddish-tan toning near the rims. The luster offers
interesting contrast between the strong cartwheel on the obverse
and the striking mirrors of the reverse. Both the figure of Liberty
and the eagle exhibit considerable frostiness. Census: 28 in 65, 4
