Description

1871 Gold Dollar, MS67+
Near the Condition Census

1871 G$1 MS67+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Akers-Bender. The 1871 gold dollar boasts a small mintage of only 3,900 pieces, although the issue experienced little circulation, resulting in a moderately high survival rate in Mint State grades. Examples are occasionally available as fine as MS65, but the population thins out in finer grade. This Superb Gem is conditionally rare. A sharp strike and semiprooflike fields complement rich orange-gold color and pristine surfaces. Among the top three coins with CAC endorsement. Population: 8 in 67 (2 in 67+), 3 finer. CAC: 2 in 67, 1 finer (7/22).
