Single Finest at Both Services
1950 1C PR68 Red Ultra Cameo NGC. Over the past 25 years we
have handled just a couple of PR67 Ultra Cameo 1950 Lincoln cents,
setting a record price of $18,213 in our 2015 Central States
Signature sale, lot 4937. However, no example has ever crossed the
block in this unsurpassed grade of PR68 Ultra Cameo. This is the
single finest representative at NGC and PCGS combined (6/17).The 1950 is rarely seen with Ultra Cameo contrast. Mint officials had difficulty during the first year of proof production after an eight-year hiatus. Pumpkin-gold surfaces are practically perfect with deeply reflective mirrors and thickly frosted devices. A premium bid will certainly be required to walk away with this incredible Registry coin.(Registry values: P2)
