Description

1800 B-13, BB-193 Dollar, Choice AU
Smooth, Appealing Surfaces

1800 $1 B-13, BB-193, R.3, AU55 ANACS. Bowers die State II. A relatively early die state of this plentiful variety, with die clashing at the clouds and at OF on the reverse legend. Both the obverse and reverse are unique to the BB-193. Later states of the die show extensive die cracks on both sides (thus the sole use of the dies), although no cracks appear on this coin. Bold rims and dentils surround attractive olive-gray surfaces that flash golden luster at the margins. The strike is sharp throughout. The fields are abrasion-free, with a few small marks visible on the neck and cheek consistent with the Choice About Uncirculated grade.
