Description

1875-CC Double Eagle, AU58
Winter 1-B

1875-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. Winter 1-B. The Carson City Mint employed 10 obverse dies and four reverse dies in 16 combinations to strike 111,151 double eagles in 1875. Curved die lines on Liberty's neck identify obverse 1, and the mintmark position identifies reverse B. A trace of high-point rub prevents a Mint State classification for this important example that features reflective fields. Both sides have brilliant green-gold luster with splashes of rose toning.(Registry values: N1793)
