1901 Morgan Dollar, PR66
In-Demand Proof Issue
1901 $1 PR66 PCGS. Despite a substantial mintage of nearly 7
million pieces, the business-strike 1901 Morgan dollar is one of
the rarest dates of the series in high grade. Demand for proof
specimens has always been accordingly high to fill date runs, and
only 813 proofs were coined. The present coin is a delightful
Premium Gem, with sharply-detailed devices and brightly reflective
fields. Some elements of contrast are evident, but the cameo effect
is not strong. A few hints of lavender and gold toning are present,
and visual appeal is outstanding. Population: 16 in 66 (1 in 66+),
