Description

1863 Dollar, VF30
Rare Problem-Free Below XF

1863 $1 OC-1, Low R.3, VF30 PCGS. Attractive, even light-gray surfaces contain few abrasions. Wear is even and appropriate for the grade. The 1863 date is doubly desirable, as it is rare in any grade due to its low mintage of 27,200 coins, and is also very desirable as a Civil War-era issue. Osburn and Cushing note, "problem-free examples in grades below XF are rare." Considering Seated dollars in lower grades are quite sought-after, expect significant competition for this lovely Seated dollar.
