Description

1850-C Liberty Quarter Eagle, MS61
Rare Issue in Mint State

1850-C $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. The 1850-C Liberty quarter eagle is not as difficult to locate as its paltry mintage of 9,148 pieces would suggest, but examples in Mint State condition are rare. This attractive MS61 example offers well-detailed design elements, with the always seen touch of softness on the eagle's legs and claws. The lustrous surfaces show the expected number of minor contact marks for the grade and a couple of tiny lint marks in the right obverse field. Census: 11 in 61, 4 finer (6/16).(Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25HH, PCGS# 7756, Greysheet# 8362)

Weight: 4.18 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
