1886-S Morgan, VAM-2, Top 100
1886-S $1 MS64 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. CAC. VAM-2. A Top
100 Variety. The serifs of the mintmark are repunched. Intricately
struck and prominently reflective with a minimally abraded reverse
and only a couple of moderate facial marks. Brilliant aside from
traces of gold patina near the margins. PCGS has graded just one
finer Deep Mirror Prooflike coin (2/11).Ex: Baltimore ANA Signature (Heritage, 7/2008), lot 2216, which realized $8,050.(Registry values: P6, N1793)
