Description

1879-O Dollar, MS65+
First New Orleans Morgan

1879-O $1 MS65+ PCGS. Ex: California Collection. The New Orleans Mint reopened in 1879, mainly to help coin all the silver dollars mandated by the Bland-Allison Act. This Plus-graded Gem displays a sharp strike for a New Orleans issue, with little blending in the hair strands over Liberty's ear. The well-preserved brilliant surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster, with outstanding eye appeal. PCGS has graded 26 numerically finer examples (1/18).(Registry values: P5, N1793)
