Description
Lustrous Superb 1880 Three Cent Nickel
1880 3CN MS67 PCGS. Unusually well struck and undisturbed for a business strike, although the potent cartwheel luster confirms the designation as a Mint State piece. A pair of tiny laminations (as made) southwest of the F in OF identify this superlative Superb Gem, which displays light gold color. Just 21,000 business strikes were struck, and unlike proofs of the same date, not many pieces were set aside by contemporary numismatists.
