Description

Satiny Mint State VAM-3 1879-CC Silver Dollar

1879-CC $1 Capped Die MS61 NGC. VAM-3. A Top 100 Variety. The silver-gray surfaces reveal satin luster with more eye appeal than expected for the grade. A small patch of marks on Liberty's lower cheek appears to limit the grade, and some roller marks also appear on the hair above the ear. On the reverse, small contact marks appear in the left field, and a straight scrape connects with the rear of the eagle's neck. Nonetheless, between the decent strike and absence of singular abrasions, good eye appeal remains.(Registry values: P6, N1793)
