Description
1894-S Barber Half Dollar, MS66
Ex: Clapp, Eliasberg, Hugon
1894-S 50C MS66 PCGS Secure. Ex: Shireman / Eliasberg. With
a mintage in excess of 4 million coins, the 1894-S is a moderately
available issue through lower Uncirculated condition. The landscape
changes dramatically above the MS64 level, where just a handful of
MS65 and better coins are known. This is unquestionably one of the
finest examples extant. Semiprooflike surfaces showcase original
golden, lilac, and rose patina with the trace of a partial
fingerprint on the lower obverse. Sharply defined throughout.
