Description

Impressive 1881 Dime, PR67

1881 10C PR67 NGC. Brian Greer, in his Seated Liberty dime reference, says of the 1881 proofs: "Proofs are always available for a price and usually carry a premium due to the scarcity of high grade business strikes." The mirrored fields of this Superb Gem yield pronounced contrast with the frosty, well struck design elements. Cobalt-blue and lavender patina cover the obverse, replaced with champagne-gold on the reverse. An impeccably preserved coin. Census: 12 in 67, 2 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)
