Description

1936 Doubled Die Cent, MS65 Red
Scarcest of the Three Types, FS-101

1936 1C Doubled Die Obverse, Type One, MS65 Red PCGS. FS-101. All three Doubled Die cents from 1936 are noticeably doubled, and one has to wonder what took collectors so long to identify them? Strong doubling is noticed on all four digits in the date as well as all the letters in LIBERTY. This particular variety (FS-101) is extremely rare in mint condition. The coin has bright yellow-red surfaces with glowing mint luster. Population: 4 in 65 Red, 8 finer (11/17).
