Description

1875-CC Double Eagle, MS61
Impressive Quality for the Grade

1875-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1-B. Type collectors needing a Type Two double eagle while having a preference for the Carson City mintmark have an excellent opportunity with this Mint State example, although competition will be stiff from series specialists. The mintage of 111,151 pieces makes the issue the most available CC twenty, yet demand still exceeds the supply of nice examples.

Attractive green and rose highlights enhance the radiant, sun-gold surfaces of this vibrant representative of the issue. The coin shows comparatively few abrasions for the grade, none of which are severe. Cartwheel mint luster dominates the frosted surfaces. Eye appeal alone suggests a finer grade, and the technical quality is equally impressive.(Registry values: N2998)
