1856-O $10 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1. Doug Winter records three known die varieties from a single obverse die and three reverse dies, while we are only aware of two different varieties for this issue that had a mintage of 14,500 coins. The 1856-O is an extremely rare issue in Mint State grades, and even those that grade AU are elusive. This Choice AU representative, housed in a green-label PCGS holder, exhibits trivial marks on its still lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with splashes of orange overtones. Population: 5 in 55, 8 finer (1/18).
