Gem Red and Brown Proof 1909 V.D.B. Cent
1909 1C VDB PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. An impressive Gem proof with the finely grained matte finish typical of minor coinage and gold coinage proofs issued during this time period. Both sides are fully detailed and the surfaces exhibit deep orange and lilac color, fading to medium brown. Only 420 examples of the variety were coined in proof, and today survivors are elusive, especially so in Gem quality.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22KR, PCGS# 3301, Greysheet# 2471)
