1918-D Buffalo Nickel, MS65
Struck 5% Off Center
1918-D 5C Buffalo Nickel -- Struck Off Center -- MS65 NGC.
Branch mint Type Two nickels from the teens are rare in Gem Mint
State. The NGC Census shows only 27 pieces graded MS65, with five
finer. In addition to its bold central strike and lofty
Uncirculated grade, the present coin is also memorable for its 5%
off-center strike toward 10:30. All legends are complete, though
the base of the F in FIVE touches the border. The coruscating
surfaces are smooth. Light wheat-gold and ice-blue toning further
