Description
Marvelous MS68 1885 Morgan Dollar
One of Two at PCGS, None Finer
1885 $1 MS68 PCGS. CAC. Morgan dollars are among the most
hotly contested Registry categories, and while the ultimate trump
is of course the "1/0," a coin alone in its grade with none finer,
a "2/0" piece is also a valuable prize. Out of more than 17.7
million 1885 Morgan dollars produced, this is one of just two MS68
pieces so certified by PCGS (3/13). The right obverse and the
reverse have frosty silver luster with just a hint of cream, while
the left obverse has strong rainbow bands that fade from plum
through gold-green, aqua, and yellow. A virtually untouched
beauty.(Registry values: P1, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254R, PCGS# 7158, Greysheet# 7494)
