Description
1886 Three Dollar, MS62 Deep Prooflike
The Only 1886 So Designated
1886 $3 MS62 Deep Prooflike NGC. With only 1,000 strikes for
circulation, minus an unknown number of pieces that may have been
melted as unsold, makes most 1886 threes reflective to some degree.
This piece has exceptionally deep fields with the contrasting,
frosted devices that give the coin its DPL status. Numerous small
abrasions are scattered over each side, but the only mark of any
note is located horizontally between DOLLARS and 1886. The bright
yellow-gold surfaces show just a touch of red. Sharply struck
throughout. This is the only coin NGC has designated as Deep
Prooflike for this date (10/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25N9, PCGS# 8008, Greysheet# 8657)
