Description

1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar, MS64
Sharp, Lightly Toned

1928 50C Hawaiian MS64 NGC. Perhaps the most challenging commemorative to find in appealing Uncirculated grades, the Hawaiian Sesquicentennial half dollar is elusive in near-Gem condition such as this coin. Just 9,950 pieces were distributed for circulation. Many went into the hands of individuals (rather than dealers) and were tucked away as mementos or were spent. This example is sharply struck and essentially white, with hints of light-lilac patination. Many Hawaiian halves are pastel toned and colorful from their original packaging, but this one isn't. An unabraded example, softly lustrous and Choice.(Registry values: N1793)
