Description

1926 $2 1/2 Sesquicentennial Quarter Eagle MS65 NGC. Designed by John R. Sinnock, the Sesquicentennial quarter eagle was ambitiously produced (200,000 pieces struck plus 226 assay coins). Only 46,019 pieces were distributed and the rest were melted. This lustrous, conditionally scarce example is exceptionally well preserved with satiny, sun-gold surfaces that display rose and pale-green highlights. Abrasions are minor, and the troublesome copper spots that often appear on the issue are absent on the outstanding Gem surfaces.(Registry values: N2998)
