1858 1C Small Letters MS62 NGC. Snow-4. Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Low Leaves Reverse. Open E in ONE hubbed over Close E. Rick Snow describes this repunched date variety as "the left points of the flag and base of the 1 are visible as two arrowhead-shaped dots between the 1 and the 8," and adds, "a very rare variety, with only a few seen." The eagle and the final A in AMERICA are strike doubled. A lustrous orange and lilac-red cent with a retained lamination (as coined) near the tail.
