1652 Oak Tree Shilling, XF Details
Rare Noe-11, Salmon 9-Fi Variety

1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling, IN at Bottom -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. XF. Noe-11, W-510, Salmon 9-Fi, R.6. 70.8 grains. The obverse line running through the THU of MASATHUSETS is diagnostic for the very rare Noe-11 die pair. This is a well-defined coin for the time, straight-clipped at the left relative to the obverse. Though peach-tinged silver-gray surfaces show evidence of past cleaning, the overall eye appeal is considerable. Listed on page 40 of the 2020 Guide Book. .
