Description

1900-S Silver Dollar, MS67
Outstanding Preservation

1900-S $1 MS67 PCGS. Among 1900-dated silver dollars, the 1900 Philadelphia and New Orleans issues are much more plentiful in all Mint State grades than the 1900-S. This is partly due to higher mintages at the first two facilities, but also because a larger portion of the 1900-S entered circulation, befitting the hard money tradition of the West prior to World War I. The present Superb Gem appears immaculate at first glance, and it is difficult to find any signs of contact even when studied beneath a loupe. The semireflective surfaces show moderate golden-brown, apple-green, and lilac toning. The centers show moderate incompleteness of strike. Unimprovable at both NGC and PCGS, aside from a solitary MS67 Prooflike PCGS example. Population: 7 in 67, 0 finer (3/24).(Registry values: P5, N4719)
