1881-S $5 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Despite the substantial mintage of 969,000 pieces, the 1881-S Liberty half eagle is rare in Gem condition, with PCGS having assigned MS65 grades to four examples, with none finer (10/13), leaving near-Gems as a more affordable alternative. This lovely MS64 specimen displays a pleasing strike and lovely yellow-gold color.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XF, PCGS# 8357, Greysheet# 9074)
