Description

1871 Silver Dollar, PR64 Deep Cameo
Impressive Contrast

1871 $1 PR64 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. OC-P1, R.2. Two obverse dies and one reverse die were combined to coin the reported 960 proof Seated dollars that were struck in 1871. The PCGS population data suggests that only 3% of certified proof 1871 dollars have the heavy contrast of this piece. The fields show bold contrast with the devices on this fully brilliant, untoned Choice Deep Cameo proof Seated dollar. A glass reveals the faint hairlines and trivial contact marks that limit the grade. Population: 4 in 64 (1 in 64+) Deep Cameo, 5 finer. CAC: 1 in 64, 3 finer (12/19).
