Description

1851 $5 MS61 PCGS. CAC. This is an extremely important opportunity for the advanced specialist because the 1851 five dollar is quite scarce in Mint State grades. Mintage of 1851 half eagles in Philadelphia numbered 377,505 coins, but only about 100 have been graded Mint State by PCGS and NGC. This one is sharply struck with bright yellow-gold surfaces. Minute marks over each side limit the grade. Population: 13 in 61, 31 finer. CAC: 5 in 61, 3 finer (4/17).
