Lower right corner of most pages affected by shelf bend, otherwise, contents nearly new.The first edition of the desirable reference on the series of California fractional gold coinage by Walter Breen and Ron Gillio, commonly called "Breen-Gillio" among numismatists and collectors. This reference was originally intended to be an auction sale catalog of the Kenneth W. Lee Collection, which was then sold by private treaty. Afterwards, it seemed unfortunate to discard all of Walter Breen's original research, and this work eventually became the standard reference to the series. A second edition has since been published, but the first edition remains in extreme demand by collectors and specialists.
