1875-S $5 AU55 NGC. From a mintage of just 9,000 pieces, the 1875-S Liberty half eagle is scarce-to-rare in all grades, and high-grade specimens are extremely elusive. This attractive Choice AU example is lightly impressed on the obverse peripheries, but shows bold definition in other areas. The light greenish-gold surfaces retain much original mint luster.
