Remarkable 1922 No D Cent, Die Pair 3
MS63, Mostly Red
1922 No D 1C Weak Reverse MS63 Red and Brown PCGS. Die Pair
3. TRUST is weak, but sharper than IN GOD WE. The lower part of O
in ONE begins to spread into the field, and there is no "jogging"
die crack through that letter as on Die Pair 1.The reverse die, normally weak, is here in a remarkably late die state that shows very little of the left wheat ear, particularly on its left side. The obverse shows only scant trace of the D under a loupe. The reverse is fully red and high-end for the grade, and the obverse is mostly red. Unlike most specimens of this issue, the coin has never been dipped, and the original color evident on both sides makes this a truly remarkable find for the Lincoln cent specialist.
