1878 8TF $1 Wild Lips, VAM-14.16, MS62 Prooflike PCGS. A Hot
50 Variety. Liberty's profile is die doubled, similar to (though
less dramatic than) the famous VAM-4 "Hot Lips" 1888-O dollar.
VAMworld.com calls VAM-14.16 "ultra rare," and the present lot
ranks among the finest examples of the variety. The mirrored
surfaces are untoned, well struck, and moderately abraded.
