Description

1939 Arkansas Centennial Half, MS66
Only 2,104 Pieces Struck

1939 50C Arkansas MS66 PCGS. CAC. Although the Guide Book lists the eagle side of the Arkansas Centennial half dollar to be the obverse, due to the placement of the coin's date thereon, original correspondence regarding the designs from the National Archives indicates that the portrait side was actually intended to be the obverse. This representative of the commemorative displays soft golden toning over satiny luster on each side, with the reverse periphery exhibiting a pattern reminiscent of the original display box backing. The strike is pleasing and no signs of contact are apparent to the unaided eye. Population: 46 in 66 (5 in 66+), 2 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N1793)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYFJ, PCGS# 9249, Greysheet# 10236)
