Description

Exquisite MS68 1884 Dollar

1884 $1 MS68 NGC. The 1884 is a popular and readily available issue in most grades, to the point of being a popular type coin among collectors of Philadelphia type sets. As always, such availability has its limits as grade increases, and in the case of the 1884, MS68 is the "end of the line," with just two coins awarded that numeric grade by NGC and just one by PCGS (11/08). This shining Superb Gem, generally silver-white with the faintest rose tint in the centers, is sharply struck and exquisitely preserved. Magnificent all-around eye appeal with only a few unimportant luster grazes in the fields.
