1870 Standard Silver Dime in Silver
Judd-856, PR64

1870 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-856, Pollock-936, High R.6, PR64 PCGS. The central obverse device features Liberty facing right, wearing a cap ornamented with three stars. The motto is below and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is above. A wreath of oak and laurel surrounds 10 CENTS in the center, with STANDARD SILVER above and 1870 below. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This rare Standard Silver dime pattern survives to the extent of perhaps 12 pieces. Examples seldom appear on the market. Antique olive-gold patina covers much of this near-Gem proof. There are no more than a couple of noticeable contact marks.
