1806 B-10 Draped Bust Quarter, MS64
Rare and Interesting Variety

1806 25C MS64 NGC. B-10, R.5 The B-10 is an interesting variety and the passage from Tompkins bears repeating here to demonstrate why:

"The B-10 is a rare die marriage that can be found in most grades, but it is much more rare if found in AU or above condition.
"There are raised concentric lines through the portrait. These are remnants from when the master die surface was turned down on a lathe prior to punching in the central portrait."

Both sides exhibit lovely lavender-charcoal shades with underlying gold and blue colors. All primary features are well-defined, and the surfaces are uncommonly abrasion-free for an 1806 quarter of any variety. A noteworthy opportunity for the series specialist.
