Description

Republic Copper Pattern 10 Centavos 1870, KM-X2a, AU, harshly cleaned long ago and toning. What appear to be scratches on the obverse above the coat of arms are actually areas of irregular patina and not damage to the surface of the coin. Believed to have been struck in New York by Republican sympathizers following the revolt of 1868. Very rare.
