Excellent Display Piece
California Placer Gold Nugget. Ex: S.S. Central
America. 21.00 gm. Of bulbous shape with two long flanges and a
test cut where one flange meets the main mass, about half an inch
deep, three-quarters of an inch wide, and nearly an inch long.
Among the first S.S. Central America artifacts auctioned,
from the insurers' portion of the recovered treasure.Ex: Sotheby's (6/2000), lot 128. A photocopy of the lot description from that catalog is included with the lot.
