Description

1916 Half Dollar, MS66
Lightly Toned First-Year Walker

1916 50C MS66 PCGS. Amber and crimson hues thinly coat otherwise brilliant surfaces awash in softly frosted luster. Liberty's thumb is fully visible, while the central skirt lines and the eagle's leg are moderately indistinct. Mentionable marks are at a minimum on each side. The supply of 1916 representatives through Premium Gem condition is enough to satisfy most collector demand, as this first-year issue (608,800 coins struck) was well-saved by the public. Finer examples, however, are very rare. Population: 93 in 66 (6 in 66+), 5 finer (7/15).
