1855-S $5 AU58 PCGS. PCGS estimates a survivorship of 135 coins for this low-mintage San Francisco issue (61,000 pieces minted). The 1855-S and its contemporaries circulated heavily in the West, suffering a high attrition rate. The design elements are fully struck, barely showing any grade-limiting friction.
