55% Off Center Jefferson Nickel
Struck on a Dime Blank, MS65
Undated 5C Jefferson Nickel -- Struck 55% Off Center on a Dime
Blank -- MS65 NGC. 2.25 gm. Struck between 1977 (see
Breen-2791) and 2003. A clad dime blank was fed widely off center
between Jefferson nickel dies. Off center toward 4:30 with the date
and any mintmark off the flan. TRUST and UNITED STATES are present
in addition to Jefferson's nose and forehead. The force of the
strike causes a bend relative to the unstruck portion. Medium
chestnut toning.
